Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions?

Good. I’ve got answers.

  • Absolutely. The most important component of therapy is the relationship that is fostered between the therapist and client, not where the work takes place. Online therapy allows you greater flexibility for session times, gives you more time in your day since you don’t have to commute, and provides you the opportunity to do therapy from the comfort and safety of your home or other safe space.

  • To preface my answer, I believe in providing all my clients with the tools, resources, skills, and support they need to thrive in life and no longer need me, aside from the occasional check-in or support during a hard time. I deeply care for all my clients and am considerate of the investments therapy requires.

The duration of therapy is dependent on goals and severity of presenting concerns. To achieve steady and significant growth, I recommend weekly 50-minute sessions. This consistency allows us to adequately track progress as well as implement and refine learned skills and behaviors. Growth does not happen from what we do once in a while, but what we do consistently.

  • No I do not. I am based in Orange County, California and providing therapy online allows me to work with anyone who lives anywhere in the state. Whether you live in South San Diego, in the heart of Orange, Los Angeles, or Riverside, or at the tip of Northern California, I can provide therapy to you.

  • While I’m not an in-network provider for insurance, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your out-of-network benefits, including details on your deductible, coverage amounts, and the number of sessions covered. If you have a PPO, there’s a good chance you’ll be partially reimbursed. Please note, if you choose to seek reimbursement, I am required to include a diagnosis on the superbill, which will become part of your medical record.

  • I charge $150 for a 50-minute session. In certain cases, I may be able to slide my fee to accommodate to your financial circumstances.

  • Therapy is a big financial and emotional commitment. That is why I believe in taking an active, results-driven approach. With me, you have a therapist who genuinely cares for you and matches your committment to your goals. The cost of therapy with me is reflective of the value and benefits you receive from our work together. My goal is to offer you care that provides short-term relief and long-term, life-enhancing change. I charge $150 per 50-minute session, and I work with clients who are paying privately. This allows us to tailor the work to your needs without the restrictions of insurance (like session limits or diagnosis requirements).

That said, I want therapy to be accessible. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we can talk openly about your options, or I can refer you to affordable community resources if needed.

Therapy is an investment in your mental health, relationships, and long-term well-being — and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
